Brewer was Ecus- ta's manager of production con trol prior to this promotion. Em ployed in June 1959 as a cost accountant, he worked in accoun ting as cost an alyst and systems analyst before his move to Ecusta’s Marketing Depart ment in 1964 as customer service supervisor for fine paper. Following that he was named production plan ning supervisor, then manager of production control. He is a native of Clinton, and attended schools at Concord before entering St. Louis University where he earned his B.S. degree in Commerce and Finance. Before joining Olin he worked with Falstaff Brewing Corp, in St. Louis. He served with the U. S. Army dur ing the Korean War. T. RONALD DAVIS has been ap pointed chief accountant for Film Division financial affairs. He was senior general accountant and sup ervisor of bi-divisional billing and accounts payable prior to this move. He joined Olin in November 1971 after having worked with Gen eral Electric in Hendersonville as specialist in sales accounting and inventory analy sis. Born in Port Huron, Mich., he graduated from West Henderson High School. He received his B.S. degree in Mathematics and Business Accounting at Western Carolina University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served as an officer in the U. S. Army for three years. He is a member of the Society for Advancement of Manage ment. pointed quality MARILYN M. ORR has been ap- control inspector in the Ecusta Paper Division. A native of Ashe ville, Mrs. Orr has been employed by Olin since August 1, 1957. She worked in Ecus- ta’s Finishing De partment and Rod Department be fore becoming a tester in the Qual ity Control Department in 1970. She also worked as relief quality control inspector before her recent promo tion. Other employment was with Belks Department Store and Jack- son Pharmacy. She is a graduate of Hendersonville High School. She is the wife of Marvin Orr of Film Division’s Chemical and Casting Department. JERRY W. AKINS has been ap pointed technical service manager in the Film Division. He joined Olin in November 1965 as a process con trol chemist at Covington, Ind., and later served as film evaluation supervisor in the Research and De velopment De partment at Pis gah Forest. He was assigned to the Chicago area for three years as a cellophane salesman, and returned to Pisgah Forest in April 1974 when promoted to Marketing programs manager, being responsible for the market development of reinforced cello phanes. He is a native of Noble, III., and attended schools there. He graduated from Eastern Illinois Uni versity with a B.S. degree in Educa tion, having majored in chemistry and mathematics. While in college he was elected to Kappa Mu Epsilon, honorary math fraternity. He is a member of the American Chemical Society. LEROY H. COWAN has transferred to the Fine Paper and Film Group at Pisgah Forest as a senior engi neer in the Technical Department. He had been with the Film Division plant at Coving ton. Employed by Olin at Coving ton in June 1963, he worked as sheeting foreman and industrial en gineer before be ing named staff assistant. He was assistant coordi nator of the plant’s coating busi ness team at the time of his transfer. A native of Montreal in Quebec, Canada, Cowan graduated from Summit High School in Summit, N. J., and earned his B. S. degree in Industrial Engineering at Fair leigh-Dickinson University, Teaneck, N. J. He is a member of the Ameri can Institute of Industrial Engineers. MAX M. LAYTON has been ap pointed manufacturing superinten dent of the Film Division plant at Pisgah Forest. He was technical service manager prior to this pro motion. After join ing Olin in May 1956, he had served in a va riety of positions in Quality Con trol and Sales when named mar ket development manager for coat ed plastic in 1971. The next year he was appointed technical service manager. Earlier work was with the Warren County Farm Bureau Corp, of Indiana. A native of Marshfield, Ind., he attended high school at West Lebanon, Ind., and is an alum nus of Ball State University and the University of Tennessee. He is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fra ternity.
